THE changing face of Coventry from the 60s to the present day will be captured on film by Grapevine’s media team photographer Peter Clarke. Coventry University’s photographer for the past 40 years will retake shots he took in the 60s with the help of Peter to make a portfolio showing the changing city landscape. This ‘then and now’ assignment is part of Peter’s weekly work experience placement to develop his photography skills with Coventry University. The placement will include opportunities to learn about taking portrait photographs and how to use studio lighting. However a recent brief to get some dynamic action shots didn’t quite turn out as Peter had expected. He was ready to get some pictures of Grapevine’s volunteer Rob Crutchlow vigorously flying the University’s new flight simulator when Rob actually managed the perfect smooth landing. All of the new skills and experience Peter gains from his placement will be used to take photographs of the Grapevine staff team and he will be attending a photography exhibition at the NEC to see what happens in the industry.
