On the podium Opal Ayo, co-founder of Black Lives Matter, explained how #BlackLivesMatter started: a black teenager was stalked and murdered and the killer acquitted – but outrage went well beyond that murder (or the next or the next). “We created something that began to raise the consciousness of people”
