Make rest a priority in Coventry

Each month Coventry locals come together with Connecting for Good Cov to collaborate and kick start ideas into community-led action on isolation.

And the next opportunity is tomorrow! Wednesday 17 August, with 5:45pm arrivals for a 6pm start at Esquires Coffee inside Coventry Transport Museum.

We invite you to join us again or for the first time at Collaboration Station and choose your breakout space from the three options below.

Resting Spaces

Resting Spaces’ mission is to provide enough free, quiet spaces in and around the city centre where people who need to rest can relax. The idea was sparked from the Cloudspotting action that took place during Coventry’s year as City Of Culture and is being led by a core team of locals with lived experiences of why resting spaces are beneficial and needed.

Already a couple of locations in the city have agreed to sign up as resting spaces. Look out for exciting news on this soon.

If this resonates with you, come along to find out more and to support them. The more people who get behind the idea, the more chance of its success!

If you can’t come to Collaboration Station this month, message Resting Spaces via their Facebook group or email our community organiser Siân by clicking this link.

Survivors Sanctuary

Survivors Sanctuary is a new survivor-led initiative which aims to offer peer support, friendship and creative workshops to those who have experienced Sexual Violence. They are looking for people who are comfortable offering practical ideas and solutions to grow their mission.

Voices for Change

Voices for Change are gathering stories about the people, events and experiences that have influenced people’s commitment to social justice. The stories – one sentence, three or four words, or a whole story – will create a series of podcasts for everyone to hear.
